Thanks for that update. We'd been over this elsewhere and seen both outer mold plates (with no holes) as well as the sand(?) castings for the inner sections to be broken out after the iron is poured. There are clearly rib reinforcements around the hole areas but the holes themselves are in no way cast into this part. This is the cast dimple you may be referring too. There were no dimples or pilot holes or such in the side plates however. If you want to read the whole thread on it shoot me an email. The pics were from the Move-it guys who apparently cast some of the parts for Porsche. And a Porsche employee did some research as well late in the whole conversation.
