Well, I had redundancy in mind (which turned out to be a very good thing for the testers) and, besides, when I buy the LEDs by the 100's, I get a resistor for each LED free or very cheap, so I might as well use them.

I'm flattered, but I don't think I'm talented enough. That was the real reason I acquired all these LEDs in the first place - because I wanted to make some LED tails for my wagon. NOW, I know I can make a board with LEDs, but I just cannot take the taillamp assembly apart gracefully
