Don't read too much into that announcement, or the fact that it was in AutoExpress. Ford does indeed have financial issues, and it's the US market which is causing this. Ford Europe is n profit, the losses are from the US division, hence no C1 platform for you guys.
The announcement that the RS is "shelved" are similar to the ones that were going around before the FRS was released, albeit two years down the line, so it's a case of deja vu. 2007 may see an RS release.
