So where is the best place to mount the new DPFE? It seems Ford moved it closer to the heat source in 2001. Why would they do that? Or is heat not the main problem with failures?

I am getting a P0401 so i need to narrow down whether my problem is the DPFE or the Vacuum Regulator Solenoid. It would be nice to try to mount the sensor in the best place.
