If I'm understanding the use of the adjustments on the bar...

by moving the endlink to the softer or stiffer hole, your effectively changing the length of the lever.

thus the softer bar will act as if its a smaller diameter bar b/c its longer and allow more suspension articulation.

and using the stiffer hole, will act as if the bar is thicker in diameter and reduce the suspenion articulation.

I would check tho, to see what sort of angle the two holes place the endlinks at and make sure they arn't binding or at at a funny angle.

if they are, i'd suggest using the hole that causing the funnny angle only for track/autox days and riding on the other setting for daily driving.
