First off, a community such as FocalJet is a very specialized group of people. Or should I say enthusiast. These forums and FF are just a small sampling of the Focus owners out there. So it is very difficult to get the broad picture of what the mass of Focus owners do. Not everyone is so into this as you all. The larger market just wants to lower their car, get some phat rims and tint their windows. And I agree 100%, there is the market, like you all, that want to do anything that they can possibly do for their car.

The actual numbers may not be as high as 95%, but there are far more people that buy just the springs without shocks and struts. I was told actual numbers are 80%-90%.
We do offer springs, shocks and struts for '00-'05 at Steeda. That is what I based my comment on. The springs are a Steeda engineered product and we have other suppliers that we sell shocks and struts for. At this point we have to wait for our suppliers to manufacture '06 and up shock and struts. I even went over to the sales office today to see if I was wrong and spoke to the guys that take your orders on the phone and process the orders on our websites. They said far more people buy just the springs and gave me the 80%-90% numbers.
Now maybe its just because we make the best quality springs on the market
and are resellers for the shocks and struts. Our shocks have the best spring rates in the market. You don't need to get new shocks and struts if you get Steeda springs. I can't say that about our competitors though. I'm not saying that better shocks and struts wouldn't help any ride, I'm just saying they are not required with our springs. Maybe people just come to use for the springs and get the shocks and struts somewhere else. But what I remarked about is based on actual sales that are shipped out our doors at Steeda. I was told that people that go for the SVT setups do tend to do the entire package at one time. But they are a small number compared to the sales of our springs.
I personally only had my springs replaced. We do offer shocks and struts for my car. I just didn't feel a need to get them.
Keep in mind that the Focus market is a budget oriented crowd. (Myself included) This also has a large impact on what people get for their own cars. How many FocalJet readers search ebay for hours to save $25 on a part? Now if we were to talk about the Mustang crowd the numbers would be completely different.
