Do some serious research on the differences between the 2.3 Duratec and the 2.0 Zetec and SPI and it will soon become clear. The Zetecs and SPI's are phased and the aftermarket will follow soon enough. With Mazda using this engine in almost every car, theres going to be a lot of tech info, and aftermarket parts galore.

Coming from the Mustang world, maybe you don't understand that people here are just as, if not more, interested in a light, nimble car instead of tire melting straight line torque from a big heavy pig. Gas, and insurance prices are something to consider as well.

I would hope sfldave was referencing the D20 -> D23 swap because the Zetec -> Duratec swap should cause no confusion, it is a no brainer hehehe.
