When I'm at the track for a lapping day, I see all the guys with their GT3s, Vipers, Elises, and such, and sometimes have to admit feeling a tinge of envy. But mostly, I feel insanely lucky to be able to have this little Focus as my own track day sled dog.
There's no doubt. It's a @#$%ing money pit -- especially since I'm not particularly mechanical and leave all the work to my mechanic. Thanfully, he keeps it running, despite the abuse it gets and my efforts to shake all the mounting bolts loose from March to October.
I got out for a fantastic first event of the season (for me) in Portland last weekend on a reconfigured track with an all-new surface. I did share a few photos of the day with the local [FJ] folks earlier this week, but here are a couple of shots for Team Rigz (photos by Kent Regan of
