Re: tired of my focus
why does it need all of that stuff? I think you have been watching MTV too much. Why racing seats? Are you planning on racing it? I have Kevlar RaceTech seat in my Mustang, with a roll cage, and 5-point harnesses. Not something you want on the street, and in fact, it is not leagle. Racing seats (non reclining) should be used with a 4-point roll bar, which is a no-no for a street car. Why a CF hood? Any weight savings would be negated from the stereo stuff. Coilovers? Why? Are you planning on corner weighing the car for balance? I run coil-overs on my Mustang because I will corner weigh it and adjust. Also, I have moved so many items around to balance the car, conventional springs were not keeping the car level. Also, I can increase the wheel rate with coilovers and tune the wheel rates better vs a conventional spring. Coilovers on a focus don't effect the motion ratio, so it is a little different than on my Mustang. What dampers are you planning on running? You understand that increasing the spring rate requires an increase in damping? Also, lowering the car too much throws off the handling as it changes the roll centers. Suspension tuning and development is not as easy as ordering a bunch of parts and calling it done.
My point is that throwing "race" parts on your street car will only get you farther away from all the engineers at Ford worked hard at. I would add the SVT Suspension (complete) and leave it alone.
