Well if the Marcy intake works then it probably is the K&N
's MAFS tube area being the wrong size.
As for the smog check why wouldn't you just swap back to stock? Your first test on an '04 won't be until 2010 and then it's every other year after that. I would think 20 minutes of work would more cost effective.
