Default Re: 400hp 87' mustang LX that gets 80mpg

My 92GT was horrible on gas.

347 Stroker
AFR Heads
Custom grind comp cam
Edelbrock RPM II upper and lower intake manifold
70MM TB
76MM C&L MAF
Full MSD Ignition
30Lb injectors
255 Walbro
Aeromotive billet fuel rails
1 5/8" Shorty headers
2 1/2" offroad H pipe with flowmaster 40's
3.73 gears
mini spool
Tremec 3550
I am sure there is more

I was getting 10 MPG on pump gas as high as 13mpg as low as 7mpg. I don't see 80mpg happening.

Unless someone finally figured out to make electronic valve actuators "camless engines" that can cope with engine heat. Imagine variable valve lift, infinite timing adjustability. Maximum torque and horsepower at every rpm. This technology has been out for a while I believe it was GM that was cranking out 400hp and 75mpg out of a 4 cylinder over 10 years ago.

So combine this technology with turbo charging and direct injection and hybrid technology. And we are talking potentially 200mpg under ideal conditions. The technology is here, someone has to do something about it.
