fair enough, and I respect those choices. My response to Dave was his weak justifications on why he doesn't want to wear gear.

If you don't want to, you don't want to...but don't come up with some bull**** excuse like you aren't stunting or speeding to make yourself feel better about your choices.

I've had a moto license for almost 15 years and have been riding pillion since I was three. I didn't wear any gear (except a helmet because it was the law in my state) until my mid twenties. Then, as my friends and cohorts starting going down one by one and coming up with missing skin and mangled bodies, I decided I'd pressed my luck long enough and suited up. (and very very few of these accidents were ever the fault of the rider, or even avoidable)

Still it's an individual decision to make, and I won't bash anyone for making a choice I don't necessarily agree with. I will only make sure that it won't be through lack of accurate information that the person is choosing to not wear gear.
