Steel doesn't work. It'll last a ~bit longer than plastic, but unfortunately, it'll burn through fast. And it costs money.

Back in my wonder years when I first got my license, a friend of mine and I took our Mini out and his Integra out and did it. It was sweet.

...the Mini hated it. Like literally. All the check lights came on, started flashing, and the car just stopped. We had to wait 5 minutes before it would start again. Nothing was wrong with it, I just think the TCS and ABS systems couldn't contemplate driving around for a minute or two with the rear brake locked out.
