Very Nice! Have you made any 1/4 mile runs with the new setup?

Great numbers! I checked on Vortech's website and it says that the V-5 F-trim blower produces 20psi max. Are you using a different supercharger or are you just running it at the max?

I can't see how a supercharger can max out at a PSI level.
Seems it should have a max CFM flow limit and depending on the engine size, that will equal X PSI of boost.

Thanks to all! I have been waiting to borrow a friends mobile dyno so I can finish tuning it but now I have decided to swap out the stock shortblock in preparation for the shootout. The shortblock should be ready in a few weeks. Hopefully the swap will leave enough time to tune and hopefully make a few 1/4 mile runs before the event and while the weather is still cool down here.

I agree... I'm sure it has something to do with the SAE J-1723 standard they test by.

http://www.sae.org/servlets/productD...D=J1723_199508

I was told by an engineer at Vortech that the V-5 F-Trim will flow enough to support making well over 400hp. We are probably making somewhere around 325whp @ 20psi / 7,000rpm so we're going to try and increase the efficiency of the engine so hopefully we will see less psi and more hp. We're loosing too much power creating 20psi and the added heat doesn't' help much either.

What blower pulley size are you using to make 20psi?

A custom 2.4" and a 5.9" crank. The belt slips pretty bad with such a small blower pulley. I am working on improving belt traction with the pulley. The belts still last a while so it's not a big deal but I'm loosing blower rpm.

Why did you guys decide to fabricate a PWR aftercooler rather than just using the Vortech aftercooler?
