Default spec Vs. Clutchmasters

I am looking at the spec stage 3 and the clutchmasters stage 3. why is the clutchmasters so much more expensive?

The clutch needs to hold up to some drag racing and open track , as well as its regular street duty. will either or both of these outlast the stocker?

A spec stage 3 is like a clutchmasters stage 4. Both are good clutches. Depending on the bolt-ons and how hp your car is making, I would look at the spec stage 2 or clutchmasters stage 3. It would be easier to drive in stop and go traffic.

There are two different manufactures. Spec has been know to offer clutches for less than clutchmasters. They both make good clutches, and both are about the same.

The kits come with pressure plate, clutch disk, alignment tool, and thow-out bearing/slave cylinder. I know all the clutchmaster kits come with the alignment tool. I know spec clutches for the svtf don't come with the alignment tool, but I believe the regular zetec kits do.

do you reccomend replacing anything else that is not included in the kit when doing the swap?

also is there a way to find out for sure if the spec kit comes with the alignment tool? i know not till the week starts but is it possible even then?

I believe ford also replaces the clutch master cylinder when doing the clutch install.

It would be easy to find out if spec includes the aligment tool or not. We would just to call their 1-800 # tomorrow morning to find out.

My spec clutch came with the allignment tool. I got the spec flywheel and spec stage 1 clutch for my duratec. Let me tell you if you have a duratec stay away from the stage 1, its a very weak clutch for the 2.3 . I'm in the process of trying to get this problem figured out but all i get when i call spec is there tec. hotline message. So i leave a message and they haven't called me back yet.
Go with the clutchmaster clutch, i hear good things about those..

I double checked with spec. They said the zetec clutches do come with aligment tools. The svt focus kits do not.
