So you are producing the same one that FC used to make? Is there any difference? What colors are available? Thanks in advance from a repeatedly happy customer.

Yes, this is the same throttle body. We currently offer them in black only. Thank you for your repeat business!

I've read that FC's throttle bodies had issues with the spring. Have you guys looked into any reported issues this TB may have? Most importantly, should something break on this unit will you guys warranty it for x amount of time?

The only spring issue we're aware of is when using the throttle bodies with JRSC superchargers due to the added heat. I've been told this has been corrected. In the event there is a failure we will definitely take care of it.

Will there be specific applications for this TB vs the 70mm one?

The 70mm will be more beneficial with cylinder head port work and matching camshafts.

Yes, it will work but you will need a different silicone elbow to fit the larger OD of the throttle body.

Could I use one of your silicone transition kits, or would it be better just to get a new silicone elbow?

If your kit uses an elbow then you will have to buy a replacement elbow.

Is the 70mm TB going to be beneficiary with the JRSC/BBK or should I stay with the stock SVT TB? Thank you!

From what I understand, any improvement in airflow on a roots type supercharger setup can most definitely lead to a power gain. In my opinion, the intake tract should be adequate in size for the highest amount of air the charger can move.

Is an adapter needed for the JRSC "dryer hose" that connects the stock airbox to the TB? Or will it fit the 65mm unit as is?

Thanks!

I'm not sure if the JRSC hose will stretch enough to go over the 65mm throttle body. You might need a larger size hose to make it work. I think most guys end up doing their own custom setup.

And the answer is .... the JRSC "dryer hose" will stretch over the 65mm TB. Took about 20 minutes to figure out how best to do it (collapsed the hose over my hand and did a little finger puppet routine to push it over the lip of the TB). It doesn't seem any the worse for wear.

The TB is definately a big change in terms of throttle response - very touchy. Still getting used to it, but it does seem to make Zipy happy, and hopefully by keeping the stock air box, I'm still keeping the IAT down vs. running an open element filter.

This is definitely one of the best upgrade for JRSC as you can see on dyno

Quote:

After the ported inlet testing I reinstalled a non ported inlet casting. It was then that I decided I needed to do a back to back test of a stock throttle body, a ported throttle body, and a 65mm throttle body on a Zetec with a Big Boost kit on it. Keep in mind the test was done at 5000 ft elevation. But the results were amazing. The grid on the right side of the graph is the boost pressure. The grid on the left is horsepower. And although the boost pressure lines are a bit erratic they only vary by a couple of tenths of a pound of boost at most. I just happen to have a very sensitive pressure transducer on my Superflow dyno. The bottom line here is that the same car that barely made 7.6psi at 4700 rpm with the stock throttle body made 8.3 psi at the same rpm level just by installing a larger throttle body. And I may have made more if I had ported the inlet casting like I mentioned in the ported JR inlet test. This car improvedfrom 180 hp to 190 hp just by installing a larger throttle body. What was learned here is that spinning the supercharger faster to get more boost doesn’t help if the rest of the system isn’t optimized.
