We have 4 shortblocks being built this week. They are being built with Eagle rods and FC/Probe pistons. We offer a main bolt upgrade to ARP main studs. Installing ARP main studs will require the lower crankcase cover to be modified. We offer this modification for an additional $75.

All shortblocks ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL!

CFM shortblocks are manufactured from BRAND NEW components. No boring this, no resized that. EVERYTHING is brand new! Building an engine properly is not as easy as most people think. It requires special tools, knowledge and experience. It is the difference between premature component failure or damage and not having ANY problems. Our engines are built by a dedicated engine builder with in-house equipment and tools. From beginning to end, your engine will be handled, built and inspected by the same person.

Introductory pricing on our shortblocks is $2,299.95 which includes shipping. Add an additional $134.95 for main stud upgrade. Regular price will be $2,499.95. Our goal is to have shortblocks ready to ship so you don't have to wait the typical 2-4 months while the engine is built.

Is there any provision for oil squirters? Any provision for a revised CR (i.e. 9:1 rather than 8.2:1 or 10.2:1)?

We only have NEW standard Zetec blocks. If you can supply a NEW SVT or CGI block we'll be more than glad to have one built for you.

We are running low on the 8.2 pistons and will be ordering new pistons soon. I think we're going to order something closer to 9:1 since that will suit the majority of customers. You could also go with 10.2 and run a thicker head gasket if you're goal is around 300whp. Depends on how much power you're going for. Anything over 350+ I would recommend going somewhere in the 8.5:1 range for the added safety. Especially if you're going to try and push limits on 93 octane.

I'm looking to make about 220-240 hp all told, so I'd think that even on 93 octane a 9:1 CR would be good to go.

If you can get some 9:1 CR pistons (JE?), you can consider a shortblock sold right now. Let me know.

Last I checked, JE 9:1 compression pistons were on back order. I got the last set that JE had in stock. But that was a month ago, so I dunno if more have been built.

Oil squirters?

These are not SVT blocks so no oil squirters are available. In our opinion, they are not as essential when you lower the compression ratio. Also not worth paying for the additional cost for them.

We can do that too. We can get the parts for you so you don't end up paying additional shipping costs.
