What PCV valve would you suggest for use with boosted cars?

Will this work for NA and if so would there be any benefit?

Most definitely! Anytime the intake manifold has vacuum (whether NA or forced), it is pulling air from the crankcase through the PCV. This air contains small particles of oil that over time accumulate in unwanted places which can lead to a decrease in engine performance.

We have one of these kits installed on our NA SVT Focus. It has been on there for a week and a small amount oil has already accumulated.
Where do you think that oil was going to before?Normally, you would have to add oil to the engine. With the separator you can just put it back into the engine.

Have you thought about setting it up to automatically drain back into the crankcase? If I'm understanding the way it works now, you have to empty the oil catch container manually, correct?

So I would literally be able to say weekly take the oil that it "catches" and just unscrew my oil cap and pour it back in?

That is a great idea but not sure how that could be accomplished since it would require some sort of oneway valve so the oil could return via gravity without having the vacuum pull it back into the bowl. Maybe when you shut the engine off (no vacuum), the oil will return to the crankcase. I just don't think the oil would push itself past a typical one way valve. I think this could only be accomplished by an electric pump. It could get complicated but it definitely sounds possible .

It will work with any setup that retains the use of the PCV valve. You can connect the hoses anywhere on the PCV hose.

Does this replace all the hose between the PCV and the IM? Or just the soft line?
Would it be possible to have the instructions emailed to me? I'm trying to find a diagram of one seeing as I'm debaiting whether I want to order one or not. |

It does not replace anything. You have to cut the factory PCV hose and use the supplied barb unions to place the separator in-line. Instructions are not available yet.

We are currently testing our first self-drain system prototype. It looks very promising!

I knew I waited for a reason! Do I get a discount for the idea?

Sure! I will throw the additional parts at no additional charge. I believe we're going to charge an additional $20 for the auto drainback feature. We're currently waiting on the new brackets to be made. We should have them in about 3-4 weeks. They are sweet!Unfortunately, the auto drain back feature will not work with aftermarket strut tower braces due to the height at which the separator must be placed for gravity to return the oil back to the engine conflicts with the bar. We are making a shorter bracket for those with strut tower braces that would like to keep them but they won't be able to use the auto drain feature since the separator sits too low. There are ways around this but I'm just making notes of what will happen when you use our brackets in their designated location. They could always be placed elsewhere via a different attachment method.

Hmmm, no strut tower brace.... will you be making an STB that gets around this problem one day?

I wanted to know:
is this thing basically super easy to install? will there be instructions soon on the site or included in the order? or can you write a how-to on it in this forum? I would be doing the manual way, I dont care about having to empty it myself, thats not THAT big of an issue. as soon as instructions are available I will be buying it.
