clutch break in - Focaljet

i figure many people have a question as to the proper technique and time to break in a new clutch.
i just bought a 8 lb procharger kit and need to get a new clutch/flywheel set-up. what's good for the power that i'm putting down? also, whats the longevity of whatever clutch would be appreciated too.
i figure many people are going this root with clutch/flywheel and fi so could you guys help me out?

I dont think anyone can tell you how long a clutch will last. It REALLY depends on the driver. And I'm positive a Vendor isn't going to tell you how long knowing full well that they put themselves in a tough spot if it goes out sooner.

Longevity is going to vary and it will vary per driver per setup.

As for break in, the proper break in procedure is to drive it normal. Dont floor it, Dont overly baby it (slipping the clutch to much), Dont go for wheel spin. Just drive it like you're driving it to work or school.

Break in period for Kevlar clutches should be a minimum of 1000 miles, and 1500 miles if possible.

Ceramic clutches should be a minimum of 500 miles and 1000 miles if possible.

With that you could run a Stage III CM or a Stage II Spec (same clutches for the most part).

Those are Kevlar discs with better longevity than the CM 4 and Spec 3 and will be better for daily driving.

You could step up to the CM 4 or Spec 3 if you want a bit more bite, but you're longevity will be down a bit and daily driving in stop and go traffic isn't a picnic. Good Luck !

just got past break-in on my spec stage 2.. I love it!!! Pedal effort is surprisingly easy. Engagement is smooth even in my underpowered car, but once it's in there is not a doubt. If you want a good product go with spec break it in right and then floor it and dump your freshly broken in clutch. You'll leave an impression on your seat back
