Also, could it be made in a little smaller diameter? With the 5.7" crank pulley clearance is minimal.

Just wondering, what would a different tensioner pulley do for your engine? Would the decreased weight of the aluminum help? Or is it upgraded bearing like everyone is talking about that would help?

A better bearing would get rid of a bit of parasitic drag and increase lifespan, increased tension would get rid of belt slop caused by a supercharger, and smaller diameter would allow for more clearance of underdrive pulleys. Aluminum just looks nice in this application.

I'd buy one, I know FoMoCo did not design the stock unit to live with a PWSC blower in the belt loop. 2nd the motion to upgrade the bearings. Ford's belt tensioners have been known to seize up and/or wobble.

Any luck with this? I just checked the CFM web site and did not find anything. I'm looking to replace my belt and thought this would be a good thing to do while I'm in there...

By the way, better berrings and a lighter pulley (think lighter rims) should remove a bunch of parasitic drag. However, a stonger spring will cause other bushings to fail...

Thanks-

you dont have a FoMoCo tensioner if you have a PW kit. The tensioner used in that kit is from a 91 Saturn SL1, trust me, i have broke 2 of them, freeking GM crap.

lol.

Well... I couldn't wait any longer. I purchased the OEM tensioner pulley (pn: ys4z6a228aa ~$68) and the Idler (pn:98bz8678ac which replaced the 98bz8678ac ~$14).

I found both to be made out of plastic. :-( So, the lighter weight AL version may not be much lighter if at all. I can also tell you the berrings are still the same baseline quality as the factory version. Hope this helps.

What issue are you talking about? Mine have larger bearings that wont blow up and the pully is made of 7075 aluminum. What issue are you having with your stock pulley???
