Default Aluminum Tensioner Pulley

Have you guys ever considered making an aluminum tensioner pulley? I don't know if it's just me but mine is pretty beat up from my supercharger.

I'd be willing to buy one. I'm going to be running alot of boost through my procharger so a good tensioner pulley wouldn't be a bad idea to have.

You guys are talking about the pulley on the spring loaded tensioner right? Are the stock ones failing or you guys just want something that looks better? We need a lot more people interested.

Yes, at least that's what I was referring to. For some reason, the grooves on mine are all messed up and it is fairly new, less than a few months old. It seems that it's really taking a beating from the supercharger belt

Yes i'm soon to be runing alot of boost on my procharger and i've invested to much money to have something as simple as a tensioner pulley hold me back.

I'm interested as well. Whatever I can do to help reduce the chances of something breaking with my Procharger setup.

Im interested. I just replaced mine. The bearings that come with it are junk, wobbly when it comes out of the box. Something with a longer lasting spring and more secure pulley would be great.

Yes, but this part won't be available right away since we're going to have to do some extensive durability testing before putting it out there. Hopefully we can find some nice bearings right away.

Default Re: Aluminum Tensioner Pulley

I'd definitely take one. I wouldn't necessarily want a stronger tensioner spring but perhaps a higher quality one might be in order. Increasing the tensioner spring pressure WILL place increased stress on all the other pulley bearings. Maybe it won't cause them to fail but then again maybe it will. Belt stretch and eventual slippage is an inevitability. I for one would much rather replace a belt every 20K than bearings.

If a properly installed new belt slips on cleaned pulleys with a properly functioning tensioner, especially on a blower equipped car, then its not really the fault of the tensioner. More like the fault of the blower manufacturer or the installer.
