Default I need some exhaust gaskets and bolts.

William,
I’m looking for a good after market collector gasket for the header, the factory gasket is just a thin metal gasket. I’m looking for something a little thicker and a good set of bolts to use. The one’s that came with my CFM high flow cat are a little short. They don’t let me use the lock washers.

I have all the VF mounts on the car and it really vibrates a lot. The bolts keep loosening up. If you where to have a bolt gasket set for under $20.00 dollars I’m there.

I would prefer the gasket was metal and asbestos, then I wouldn’t have to worry about the gasket burning up.

Then again I haven’t really taken a look to see what’s out there either.

Also, back in the day FC played around with different size pipes for the SVT header. I’d really like to see some with 1 5/8 diameter for the pipes. With a nice coating and egt bungs on each pipe.

I not sure how many you’d sell. I’d spent my money if you did make one, as I really like the high flow cat. Not that it’s on the car now, but every time it goes to the dealer I install it.

I understand that the Svt stock headers are pretty good, but that’s on a stock car, looking at some of the flow number from the new heads out there it mite be worth it to see what is missing.

I’m running the PW BBK and the CNC head and cam package from the UK. I’ve seen good improvements with exhaust changes. With the ORP and Borla exhaust the car not only sounds good it breathes better. I had to rework the tune after installing them as the air flow per minute increased.

Which leads me to believe that a larger diameter pipe in the header may yield more flow improvements?

There are no aftermarket gaskets available for the SVT header collector. We checked the bolts with lock washers before we shipped them and they were close but they worked. You should be able to start the nut a thread or two and then tighten all the way with tools. If you still need longer bolts let us know and we'll send them to you. The SVT header has 1 3/4" primaries and then it is 1 7/8" which is pretty big. It is possible that your particular setup could use bigger tubing but unfortunately there is currently not enough demand to manufacture such a monster.

Well, my neighbor who’s a big 240 guy; had some gasket material that he used on his down pipe. It had paper on both sides and metal in the middle. I just made a gasket out of it we’ll see how it holds up. It looks like good stuff. It’s as thick as a quarter and is still easy to cut with shears. It felt almost like leather.

After installing it my leak seems to be fixed, let’s hope so.

About those headers I’d still like to see something different offered for the SVT. I don’t remember exactly what the difference between FC and FS design was, but SVT owners don’t have any options. Seeing that CFM has stepped up to making parts that people want; why, not ask people if there is a desire for a different style.
If there is then you could do a one time production run similar to the high flow cat.

I hope I’m not the only one looking for something like this as there is a strong possibility that different headers would work better under forced induction.
