From Ford there is no way to upgrade other than using the correct tank and pump together. Ford does not sell any seperate part of the tank or pump.
I don't know how difficult it would be if it would even be posible to just use the pump motors in the different housings.
It's very common for Mustang guys to use Focus pump motors in Mustang pump housings and even Ford GT pumps in Mustang and Cobra setups, The pumps motors are all virtually the same size but differ in areas like the wiring connections and the actual fuel pickups.
You may want to look in that direction and see if you can make that work.
I know "Professorblinks" was playing around with these setups but it might not hurt for someone else to play with it.
