I remember reading something about someone changing brackets.

Thanks for the reply.

Push the steel sleeve inside the cast aluminum bracket out. It just needs to be moved over just a hair for the mount to slide right in. We have revised the instructions to include this info. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Instructions? Mine didn't have any stinking instructions!!!

I could push the mount into the bracket enough to see half of the hole in the sleeve. It just wouldn't go any further. I finally had to grind down the steps on both sides after the bolt holes.

I started a thread by itself a few posts down about it.

Default Re: PRODUCT FAQ: Duratec / Zetec / SPI Lower Engine Torque Mount

I just got mine in yesterday. It tightens up the shifting a good amount. Can anyone compare to the vf mount? I no longer get a hard bump when giving gas after coasting in gears 3/4/5. I still get a good bump if i give it gas after coasting in 1st and 2nd but the bump is a bit softer than the stock mount. I'm guessing the other two engine mounts would get rid of the 1st and 2nd gear bumping.

Overall very satisfied with the mount. I will be going on a long road trip tomorrow so I'll have a better feel for it. Shifting is definitely a lot smoother and I no longer have to kill my clutch trying to load up the stock bushing between shifts to avoid the bumping feel.

Thanks again to William & CFM!

Default Re: PRODUCT FAQ: Duratec / Zetec / SPI Lower Engine Torque Mount

I ordered this a few weeks ago to replace the MAC lower mount that I thoroughly destroyed on my SVTF. I only got around to installing it last weekend but after doing so, it only took a gentle application of throttle, pulling away from my driveway, to notice that CFM has done a great job again. The mount feels much better than the MAC unit I had before it ate itself and better still than my old VF mount.

Going through the gears at WOT is a pleasure now rather than an exercise in cringing. Despite the power of the PW and traction of the Quaife, the mount still keeps the engine from colliding with the firewall, a claim neither the MAC nor the VF could make when brand new.

Two thumbs up guys. Great product!

well after driving about 400 miles this weekend, I gotta say I'm loving it even more. The vibration has pretty much disappeared(probably due to break in time). There is still a bump in 1st and 2nd gear but I can live with it(may be time to replace the other 2 mounts). Upshifts have gottan a lot smoother and faster with my frpp sts. The biggest change I have noticed is how smooth downshifting has become. Heel and toe with the stock mount required me to let out the clutch slower to avoid having the engine bump to take up the elasticity of the soft mount. Now driving has become much easier and more fun!

Any news on the availability of the "race" bushings... and if I bought the existing one now, would it be something I could retrofit into the mount?

We have the race bushings available. The set of bushings is $20. We will have this added to our website.

We have not tested to see if it is possible to intercharge the bushings. We don't know if the bushing will tear when trying to take it out. If it does that, this means someone would need to buy a set of street bushing. It would be $20 for the set of street bushings.
