The mount won't go into the transmission side bracket. I can squeeze it up until the center sleeve touch's the bracket, but no more. It has already gotten 2 gouges in the urethane. I also see another step inward(even tighter fit) past the bolt hole in the bracket. I really don't think the urethane part will even fit into that.

I actually just put mine in a few hours ago. It was definitely a tight fit but nothing a little vaseline couldn't fix

I did some searches on here and found that the Duratecs lower trans bracket is a little narrower. I'll see what CFM recommends.
The vaseline comment got my hopes up until I saw that you had a Zetec. This mount would have gone in like butter on my old 00 ZX3. I left the stock one out until I can find out what to do. I haven't noticed any problems driving it around. ![]()

Don't leave it out its there for a reason. Excessive movement could damage your flex pipe, and/or your other mounts.

I had the same problem with the VF mount. I used a drop of Mobil 1, laid a 2 by 4 along the lower radiator mounting bracket, and VERY slowly and carefully used my screw jack between the 2 by 4 and the trans to push the mount in just enough to get the bolt in. No damage to anything at all and problem solved.

Shouldn't you all be using poly grease on these? Polyurethane squeaks like mad when not lubricated.

Had the same problem with my VF also. Nothing a quick hit with a hammer didn't fix.
Seriously. I used spit, a wood block, a jack, and a 250 lb dude, and one real quick hit with a claw hammer popped it right in. And I never needed any poly lube. I've had the thing in there for two years now and never heard a single squeek.

I'll try it again tommorow. Is it ok to use a little silicone spray on it?
What's weird is my Energy Suspension inserts were no problem on my 00 Zetec. But, they may have had some oily substance on them from the get-go. If I can't get it right, I'll take some pics. I have some of the gouges, but I think they'll be ok.

Well I got it in. I sprayed the silicone spray on them and they slid in further than before, but still not far enough. I then used my dremel and shaved down the two inner steps and smoothed the sharp edges on both sides. The mount now fits, but it's still tight.
