Take it off and make sure the rubber gasket is seated properly. Did you change the setting on the idle screw?

Also, check you connections on the manifold just below the throttle body (PCV and what not)

I know that in my Focus Central (back when they made it) TB it did remind to swap out the gasket from the factory TB, but don't know if CFM instructions do that. Also, is it possible you have the TPS installed wrong?

ok well... this is really really really strange. i went back and tightened everything up and made sure there was not any leaks but the hanging revs are still there. when i was driving it around after i messed with the idle screw, it made a quick clunk and the traction control light is on. and it will not got off. wtf is wrong

did you by chance clean your car. like wash it and end up spraying by the top of your hood with a pressure washer any time around when that happened. or maybe a heavy rainstorm. with the FC TB there is a tendancy for water or moisture to somehow get into the TPS sensor and thats what fries it out. I've changed mine about 10 times so far. I finally started putting sylicone around it and stoped having the problem.

my problem only occured when there was a heavy rain storm and water get drip down onto the TPS from outside the throttle body. It doesn't suck up into the TB it gets wet around it and then somehow leaks into the TPS causeing a short and the the engine starts having really bad hanging revs. When you put your new TPS on you might want to put a little bit of silicone around the outside just to seal it up and make sure no water gets into it. LIke I said I did that and didn't have any more problems with mine and I had gone through a bunch of them. Hopefully I don't run into the same problem with my new FR 70mm TB
