Even with a naturally aspirated car, some oil makes its way into the intake mani and eventually to the motor. The oil separator catches and collects this "rouge" oil if you will into a little cup and you can take this oil and pour it right back into the engine. Mine works great.

I think that over time that excess oil can damage your motor. I think CFM could tell you better than I can.

excess oil would not damage your engine. It lowers the octane of the gas and make the intake manifold dirty.

It also allows gas to stick to the intake valve and heat up to create caked on carbon.
