Default Underdrive Pulley - Duratec

Can anyone tell me where the larger pulley is supposed to go? (Not the one for the crankshaft.)

One more question and that's it, I promise!!! (At least until I think of another one )

What is the "supplied plate" in step 8 of the directions linked in the above post?

"Using the supplied plate, hold the crankshaft pulley in place while removing the crankshaft pulley bolt"

Ok...one more. Does the larger water pump pulley that comes with the kit drive the water pump at normal speed, or is that pulley only used to retain the factory size belt?

The water pulley does help to retain the factory belt size.

Got it. So am I correct in stating that the water pump will also be under-driven after I install my UDP?

Also, any idea where I can get these special tools called for in the instructions??? I can't find them anywhere!!!!!

Yes. That is correct.

The main tool that is needed is the camshaft alignment tool. It has the bar that goes on the back of the camshafts to hold them in place and the pin that goes on the bottom of the block to make sure it is on TDC. We are looking to offer something like this for the duatec http://focus.c-f-m.com/index.asp?Pag...ROD&ProdID=709. I would check with your local Ford dealership or Mac tools.

Those instructions are for when using the Ford tools.

My local ford dealer is comprised of morons. They claim that they don't sell tools (which may be true but sounds ridiculous to me) and their service technician asked me "differential...is that the whole transmission..."?

Hahaha...thanks for your help.

I will see when we will have our own installation tool available. Very strange that your Ford Dealership could not help. I would think someone at parts should of been able to help you.

So any progress on that installation tool? All I need is the pin! I've got the cam alignment bar and access to an impact wrench.

Awesome. Will it be posted on your website or will I have to call for it? I think if the proper tools were readily available you guys would sell a lot more of these.

Sweet. I would like to have a copy of those installation instructions to go with my UDP that has been on my shelf for a few weeks! How can I go about getting a copy once they are ready?
