Default Spec and Clutchmasters SVT kits

Do the Spec and Clutchmasters kits come with the newer TSB pressure plate?

Spec and Clutch Master use their own heavy duty pressure plate. They do not use a modifed stock one like before. That is why their clutch kits require their flyhweel.

Did that get rid of the chattering, too?

The clutch chatter has been reduced, but we would recommend the Spec clutch kit with the Spec steel flywheel if noise is an issue. The steel flywheel is 20lb while aluminum is 12 lb and stock is 24lb.

Great info, I'm also looking into a clutch for my '02 SVT.

I'm looking for a setup that can manage my JRSC but still maintain a high level of civility. What do you recommend?

The Clutch Masters stage 3 or Spec Stage 2. Both are good and will hold the power. Those clutches will have good driveability on the street.

Overall, wouldn't the steel Spec kit weigh more than stock? I'm under the impression that aftermarket clutches are heavier.

The steel flywheel with the spec clutch kit will be a little bit less weight than the stock parts. If you are looking for good weight savings, the aluminum flywheel would be the better choice.

Stock flywheel 24lb
Steel flywheel 20lb
aluminum flywheel 12lb.
