They "isolate" road noise and go on your rear springs. The stock ones are squishy and feel like there made out of dense foam thats what it feels like anyways. Here are some pics of the stock ones to give you an idea of what they look like and where they go. I have the ES (energy suspension) ones on my car. They are harder so the suspension can do its work better.

Ok maybe rubber but it does'nt feel that hard too me I can squish it between my fingers. Ether way squishy bad hard good lol. You will get slightly more road noise. To me though I could'nt tell tell a difference. Though I did'nt do my whole suspension at once. It was one peice at time lol.

I just installed a set of the poly ones CFM sells. I love them. My rear end stiffend up just enough. No more wobble. Also no more wheel rub on the fender. The factory rubber ones gave way to easily. These are a great buy.

No ... they go on the top (up into the pocket in the subframe).

That is correct. It is about a 30 minutes job to replace them with two floor stands and a jack. No spring compressor needed.

got mine yesterday and just finished installing them, maybe took an hour since i had to take the sway bar half way off, my stock ones were also black rubber but i figure poly is still a little stiffer, even if it doesnt do anything it only costs like 9 dollars

Already got mine a few days back and had it had it installed the next day, I noticed that it's more stiff than the usual rubber... a great deal indeed!
