Angry Why does ordering take so long?

I wish I would have known it takes 7 days to make it to my house. I could have flown there faster. I needed these thurs, figured 3-4 days was enough time. Sucks and no way of knowing till order was shipped 3 days after I ordered it.GRHH

They're called Central FLORIDA Motorsports. You should know that UPS ground takes at least 5 days to get to CA.

Perhaps you should have specified 1 or 2 day shipping, and spoken to someone in customer service to make sure it was there by the time you needed it. Most companies do not have ESP.

I am sorry that you were not able to receive the parts when you want.

Ups ground does take about 5 business days for shipping time to California.

Please feel free to e-mail, chat online with us, or call us when you need to know an estimated arrival date for a part before you place an order.

Our website does allow for quicker usps priority mail and express mail shipping. We do note during the ordering process "If you require your order by a specific date, please note the date here: (additional fees may apply)". Someone can put a date when they need the parts by. If we see ups ground would take longer to arrive than that date noted, we will contact the customer with there options.

Please feel free to call us before placing your next order or please make a note on your order with the date you need the parts by.

I've always had great luck ordering from CFM. They've always been right on top of things when I've needed something.

I'm about as central in the country as you can get and I always quote people on the coasts 3-5 days on ground.

I've seen stuff get to South Carolina in 2 days and other stuff take 5 days to get to NYC. California is no different.

Exactly right...the NY Metro area is 4 days at the quickest from Florida (I'm in CT), via UPS Ground, so California has to be longer. I have purchased enough items from CFM to know that they tend to get orders out their door reasonably quickly, and then it's up to the customer's choice of shipping method. Don't bash the retailer over "long" delivery times even though they give you options to expedite a shipment.

One point of this was that as a suspension tuner I ship stuff everyday, the slowest shipping you can do is UPS, also the most expensive, USPS has shipping rates cheaper and faster, if it fits it ships 2-3 days. Same price no matter weight or geography.Just give a small idea as far as time, it is easy to do with a geo graph of some sort.Thanks.

Every time I've ordered from CFM, my stuff was shipped with UPS Ground and showed up the next day

Gotta love how UPS ground is guaranteed to be to you by the next day when shipping within Florida

While you have every right to make a comment and give supportive idea's on shipping, i think complaining about it like your OP is unnecessary

You really should have made sure how long it was going to take to receive the parts you ordered. After all, you did click on UPS ground and submitted the order. IIRC there is an option for getting USPS priority, and as CFM even pointed out, there is a place for additional information that might be pertinent to your order.

I ordered a few parts from them on the 5th of this month. Its scheduled to arrive on the 13th, but that is absolutely fine since i am in no hurry. I knew this when i ordered and would even be okay with having it arrive on the 14th, 15th or even 16th. Next time, just plan a bit and im sure you'll have a more pleasant experience.

Thanks to everyone for your input! As William mentioned, we offer the option of noting what day the order must be received by so that we may offer expedited shipping options to the customer if necessary. Unfortunately, some people breeze through the order process and miss that option completely. BTW, that option is listed in bright red to catch customer's attention.

I saw it, 23$ to ship a couple bushings, really! I ship shocks and forks at thousands of dollars retail value insured 2-3 days for no more than 20$. Get a USPS commercial account for people farther away, the boxes are free and shipping is way faster, way cheaper.

I prefer vendors that DON'T use USPS, personally. USPS always seems to cause a headache with delivery availability.

I use primarily Fedex in the lower 48 primarily due to ease of shipping and tracking and relatively easy dealings on damage claims.

USPS has it's place and we use it a bit and we use it almost exclusively going to Canada but it's just not as friendly, it is cheap though, I'll give it that.

Cheap isn't always the answer though.

I'm really becoming a big fan of USPS for small items. I Live in Florida and ordered a connector from a joint in Minnesota on Monday night. It shipped Tues. and was in my mail box Weds. morning.

1 day shipping from half way across the country with a tracking number for $2.19. Can't beat it.

USPS is becoming, in my eye, really attractive as a shipping option for small or lightweight stuff. Their flat rate boxes are great for small stuff and their prices are the best going.

They are not without their faults though and I can fully understand why a lot of places don't choose to use them. For one, their tracking is kind of a joke. It will tell you when it shipped and where it was delivered but that's about it. Also their claims resolution is essentially zero. If they leave a package in your mail box and someone steals it, too bad. Same thing goes for damage resolution. Most of the time, it's going to be the same thing.... tough. I know if I had a small business, the last thing I'd want is to either eat the cost of a replacement because the gubmint screwed up or have PayPal breathing down my neck because someone stole a delivered package.

FedEx and UPS are pretty cheap insurance against losing your ass due to something that's not your fault. If the USPS could come up with services as easy and reliable to use as it's competitors I'm sure more people would use them.

They do kinda have a solution for reducing the risk of stolen packages...delivery confirmation. When I bought my Lamin-X (and a few other things over time) and they were shipped with USPS, I had to sign for it. And it's only like a dollar more when it gets shipped.

But even that isn't totally fool-proof...if you sign the little piece of paper for them to leave it the next day and they do then you come home to find that your ****'s been jacked, you're SOL. But that's the risk you take...

Default Re: Why does ordering take so long?

Yep.......I pick the service I want based on what's going to suit me best. My mail gets delivered to a locked mail box at the end of my very short street.....and I though I dislike having to walk to the box to go get it, it's nice knowing that someone can't just come along and open up my mail box and root around in my stuff. So USPS makes sense for me because it's cheaper, faster and secure. UPS sucks for me because it's slower, expensive, and any schmuck can steal crap off my doorstep...which has happened twice. FedEx is the same thing except they NEVER leave packages at my door and they always come during business hours when I'm at work. That usually means three failed delivery attempts followed by me having to drive half way across the city to wait 30 mins at the warehouse to get my stuff....which is a royal pain in the ass.

I'd just like to see USPS put some more security and user friendly features into their package services. Their flat rate stuff is a big improvement but they still have a long way to go before they can offer the piece of mind and insurance that Big Brown and FedEx have. Until that happens, most businesses aren't going to take the risk. I certainly wouldn't be happy about doing right by the customer just to fix a screw up that wasn't mine.......oh and kissing the next 5 or 6 sales worth of profit goodbye just to do it.

Sorry ups ground does take some time to deliver a package to your area. It is about 5 business days for the ups ground shipping time to California. If you include the day ups gets the package and include the weekend, the amount of days you noted is about right.

The best thing to do like I noted is just to let us know how soon you need it, so we can give you different shipping options. Thank you.

The post office is usually much quicker to the West coast than UPS ground.
