Default Lower mount question

What is the difference between the standard lower engine mount and the RS one that you sell? It seems like the RS one would fit a US Focus.

The mounts are different from each other. The RS mount would not work on a US car. The actual picture is not shown.

One of the steel sleeves is a different size.

I guess it's larger and uses a larger bolt? I wonder if the Getrag can be modified to make it work...

Yes, the bolt is larger. What are you trying to do?

I've seen a few trannys with busted mounting points there, and I'm looking at options to strengthen mine. Is the larger bolt on the trans side, or the body side? Can I still order these even though I'm in the US?

The larger bolt is on the crossmember (body) side but we also have larger sleeves for the tranny side. We can sell you whatever you need. Regardless, I believe the weaklink is in the cast bracket and not the bolt size. If you drill and tap the bracket for a larger bolt you might be making the problem worse unless you fill the bracket with some aluminum in the thinner/weaker sections. We have thought about making a billet bracket but would need to look at cost and demand first.

Well of course!

But if I'm not misremembering, the mounting point on the RS's MTX75 is beefier than the Getrag's. I'll have to take a closer look.
