Default 2009 Drag Times

Go ahead and post your times down the 1/8 or 1/4!

Also list your mods and your tires used and any details from the run...

I'll start..

RT .281
60' 2.277
330' 5.906
1/8 8.894 @ 82.50mph
1/4 13.632 @ 103.02mph

Focussport Stage 2 Turbo kit, Eboost 2, 3.41 Gears, 225/45/17 neogen tires up front at 28psi. Launched at 4k rpms, had a little spin and wheelhop in 1st gear. At the end I up shifted to 4th at about 100mph.. Next time im raising the rev limiter to 7200. Then I can do the whole thing in 3rd gear. Without the shift i would have been around 13.5 @ 105mph im guessing. Still need some poly control arm bushings and new shocks/struts for wheelhop. Then i can launch like i want to. im still having to let off the gas when the wheels start hopping, hurting my 60' and overall time..

Default Re: 2009 Drag Times

17.3 @ 82mph, 2.9 60', don't remember the rest as I threw out the timeslip lol.

Run issues: Launched way to hard, my zx3 likes to light them up anything above 2,500 rpms and lit up the tires (sat there spinning), tried to shift into 2nd early wouldn't go in, and missed 4th gear. **** my life hahaha.

However, I still beat the modded integra I was racing.

Mods: iceman intake / FC 65mm TB / afx UDP/ obx 4-2-1 header / FS flex / obx exhaust / sct 93 oct tune / all 3 motor mounts.

Usual times are around 15.0-15.5 with 2.3-2.4 60's.

I'll be going back soon with some new transmission fluid, and my hand duct taped to the knob.

Default Re: 2009 Drag Times

Well I went tonight and it was a big fail!
I only ran on 10 psi because traction was so bad that there was just no point running on 12.
my first run was a 2.6 60ft! it was just horrible.
I tried a variety of different techniques and had the best luck bogging it off the line and feathering 2nd. That yielded me a 2.4 60ft.
I also forgot to unhook the clutch pedal position sensor until the last run so it was bogging in between shifts.

My best run was 14.1@102.85mph w/ 2.4 60ft On 10psi

I want to go back on a warmer night when I have more time to dial in the launch. Hopefully the track will be warmer and stickier and so will my tires. I also need to hook up my boost on the switch so I can flip it once i get in 3rd.

I really don't see it getting much faster until I get a diff. But I am not pulling the trans again until the new motor goes in the car. I really need to get the gears you have Jeff, I cant believe your car goes that fast in 3rd I was close to the top of 4th!

yeah before the new tranny with 3.41 gears, the rear motor mount, lower control arm brace, and bigger stickier tires i had a 14.1@105 with a 2.59 60'.. i know how much it sucks! lol. and that was with a torsen t2.. my biggest problem then was wheelhop, and it still is. do you get any of that?

and yeah 3.41 gears + 25" OD tires helps top speed per gear a lot

zero, I have the lakewood traction bars. That is what I would get If I were you. It sounds like you spend quite a bit of time at the 1320. they dont make them specifically for the dura focus but my dad has one ant it looks like it would work w/ very little modification.

I have seen no adverse affects in the corners with mine. If anything, it helps... well as long as you don't preload them too much then the front of the car will push.

I'm also thinking about getting the lakewood traction bars. Any adverse affects at all?

Only adverse affects would be from a height perspective.

They are fairly low.

These HELP w/ cornering, so don't let that be the reason to hold back a purchase.

only if your car is slammed like 3 inches or lower would it be a problem. even then it is the lowest point on the car and is a big thick tube of metal. I personally like that part because that means it is the first thing to hit preventing damage to other components such as the oil pan. I have the pro kit so 1.5 in lower and there is still plenty of ground clearance like at least 4 inches

although everyone there was complaining that the timing is way off i'll post my slow @$$ 1/4 mile time,
best run,
RT- .573
60- 2.473
1/8- 10.826 @ 63.6mph
1/4- 16.962 @ 80.01

best RT- .346
330- 7.177 (do they only give that to the guy in front? i only have that on one slip, the one time i was in the left lane, and not the only time i was in front)

got nine runs total most were 17.2, had a lil battle with a 94 accord, bested him two of three. got lined up next to a cobra than ran a 13.1 @109mph. a couple o dem thar motorcycles were running low nines, what a blast to watch.
I will go again, to a better more reputable track with newer equiptment this summer. until then i will be turning my car around some road courses. b b b b b thats all folks!

Just got me some Hoosier DOT drag radial in 225/50/15 to go with my 15x7.5" Rota slipstreams. I should hopefully have some 1/8th mile time slips before the month ends. Should be running somewhere between 15-22psi.

Island you can drop the Hoosiers all the way down to 8psi and they will hook up like wrinkle wall slicks. Last time I was at the strip there was a Honda guy there doing just that and they looked just like slicks. He was cutting 1.6 - 1.8 60' times all night. The Hoosiers hook up better then the BFG's.

Thanks Parker! I was actually just going to ask what psi should I run these at. The only thing I'm afraid of is snapping an axle. Also, do you think I would need a spacer with these 225/50/15 tires and 45mm Rota 15x7.5 wheels? I tried one on yesterday and with about 30psi in them, there was about enough room between the tires and the shock to put a credit card. Not sure if the tires will widen or expand once I drop the pressure though and race the car.

Well, I bettered my time the other night 13.81@ 107mph w/2.28 60ft. that was the first run just after sun down. my 60ft times only got slower as the track got cooler.
