Visteon's Long Life Filtration System is a fully sealed air induction system designed to remove contaminants from engine intake air while providing noise control with minimal power loss. In addition, the Visteon Long Life Filtration System conditions the induction air stream to ensure accurate metering of air flow into the engine and contains a reticulated foam filter that is 97% porous and can be designed to last more than 150,000 miles under normal use.

All that elaborate engineering, and we're all going to yank it apart and install a free flowing CAI.

I have a feeling that the dealer might be a wee bit sensitive about mods to this setup, so careful out there kiddies. Might be a good idea to revert to stock before a dealer visit.

Probably doesn't flow as good as the stock filter, and doesn't clean as well.

Not a good thing....

i dont know, i have a hard time believing that a paper element can be the "end-all" in filtration. they have some smart folks at visteon, this could very well be the real deal.

hey, if they keep trying to get minimal loss with maximum enviro-friendliness i'm saying good for them. the foam filter looks to be promising, as well...

is the MAFS really allt he way down there near the fender? if so, just a 'cone on a stick' as we call them, could actually be a viable cold air solution, rather than a band-aid fix of sorts.

The Diagram is wrong. My ZX5 Pulls the air from the front bumper next to the driver fog light.

That setup looks like a PITA to remove/re-install.
