What's your point?

The aerocharger has been defunct for a LONG while now. Sure, there's a few used kits floating around, but 1) turbo rebuilds are costly, 2) there are very few, if not only a couple, sources for rebuilding, and 3) the turbo itself is limited.

As for the Xios kit, while it's priced competitively, it's not exactly the most conventional setup. Whether that is a good or bad thing from a mechanical standpoint is an entirely different issue. Fact of the matter is, I've not seen any publicized 'real world' info or data concerning the kit, other than Dudley's. I don't recall reading about anybody else purchasing and playing around with one. That in itself has not help Xios' business case. For as long as they've been around, Xios unfortunately has not gained any traction, and I doubt they ever will.

We appreciate all the comments! Feel free to keep speaking your minds, this is the kind of feedback I like to get.

I'll comment on some of the remarks tomorrow, it's getting a little late and I had a long day.

As for what the FS Werks kit is:

FS Werks is the new Fusion end of the business for FocusSport. However, the name FS Werks may take over as the main company name, I'm not sure yet. In any case, the FS Werks turbo kit for our Fusion is what has been mentioned in other threads, but the point of this thread was to let all of you know that we are considering adapting the kit to work on the 2.0 and 2.3 litre Duratecs. In fact, I'll just say right now that we ARE going to make that happen. So, if you are considering FI for your Duratec, please take a moment to ponder the options that FocusSport and FS Werks will be sure to deliver.

Need a test-car, Randy?

Great news!

I hope SEMA goes well for you. Sorry I won't be out there to leave handprints on the Fusion.

Turbo kit. There really just isn't enough room for a cent blower for us. It's OK, though, we like turbos, too.

If you can let us use your Focus for a while, we might need it. It's a 2.3 litre right?

Yea, litre, fibre, theatre. Not sure how that got in my head.

I'll speak to you guys after SEMA about how we're going to proceed and see if you still have the car by then.

How long do you think it takes to design, weld, test fit, fix small issues, reweld, test fit again, etc?

What do you think takes so long in designing a kit from scratch? You don't have to build the turbo--it's already done. Log-style manifolds are pretty straightforward to make.

You can't just slap some [censored] on there and call it a day. There are optimal and suboptimal ways to run it, among other considerations.

I mean look at how long it takes OCC to build [censored] for their bikes on TV. It's not much different...

are you kidding? its doesnt take months to cut and weld charge pipes.. jesus plz compare apples to apples, the OCC and FS ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT. they make their bikes like an artist makes a painting... [censored] it is art. usually a turbo kit is built for FUNCTION not form.

and the longest time consumer i would say would be designing a cast manifold and the tuning. all else is probably cake to a organization with the means to mass produce such goods. [censored] probably even the manifold and tuning, randy knows his [censored].

what u think? im attacking FS? it was purely a curosity question plz stop now. i dont even know what im argueing about? the time it takes a tuner company to put together a turbo kit? how long did it take pzevboy? like a month working on the weekends or something like that.

If things work out, I'd definitely keep the car for this opportunity. Especially if she can still be track-worthy.

I forgot that we already made a tubular master for the Zetec cast turbo manifold we were going to produce. That did take some time, not the easiest thing to make, either.

We're not the fastest when it comes to fabrication since we constantly get interrupted with phone calls, e-mails, walk-ins, message board questions, tuning, etc. However, that's OK, we have to just multi-task. This business is all about fabtrication AND customer service.

We really try to get everything right the FIRST time. While no company is perfect, we try our hardest and like to minimize reworks.

So what you're saying is that we should leave you alone now so you can get back to that SVT head/cam package? Sweet! IMHO, I'd much rather have (spend $,$$$ on) the 3rd kit to come out that is everything I wanted, than spend it on the 1st kit which simply does a pretty good job at an "affordable" price (e.g, aerocharger, JRSC). It's analogous to the "measure twice, cut once" motto
