Or how about even the rest of the old-school tricks like indexing the plugs or side-gapping. I bet the e-3's have nothing on that.

Unless you are upping the coil voltage, a simple swapping of spark plugs will not create plasma. If that where the case it would mean that the stock plug was absorbing more energy than it was outputting, this could be checked by simple resistance. Unfortunately that is not the case, for if the resistance in the plug where high enough to cut the voltage that much the coil would have gone bad already. Is your coil bad?

I couldn't find anything on the "standard copper core" plug being better, except the thinner center electrode being able to last longer without fouling.

"Overall the fine centre electrode J –gap plug could run in extended lean operation compared to the surface gap and ring gap designs. "

I believe the difference is you can get a greater gap with the copper plug. Many times people just gap the newer plug and never compare to the older plug if they where gapped right... Maybe the difference is in the gap...

Now has anyone her if the pulsar plugs really work?

Autolite 104's at .065". Cheaper than dirt and my D20 is smooth as silk.

Bad analogy. How many years were carbs used on cars? Is a carb better than FI even though it was used for decades longer? Nope. How about drum brakes? Stone wheels? Wicker baskets? Length of time of usage does not make something inherently better.

I see 3 major problems with this comparison.
#1 The show is sponsored by a parts company.
#2 This engine is carb'd, we all know how effecient and accurate carbs are especially when all you need to do is swap out a slightly different jet for the HP and pull a vacuum hose for that brake horse power fuel consumtion b.s.
#3. How long did they let the engine sit for, how many runs has the engine made over it's life, the first run with the "competetor plug" could've been the first ever run with that motor.

in terms of power and simplicity, yes a carb will win any day. Fuel Injection is used for emmissions and to jack the price of a car up.
Think bout it, a good ole' dynajunk carbo brand new is about 80 bucks. An entire fuel rail with injectors, you're looking at a nice chunk of 200+ dollars.

Drum brakes in theory also have more stopping power a disc/caliper combo. Why, there is material touching and it's using more of a slowing style of stopping than an abrupt grab.

As for stone wheels, evoloution baby, wake up.

I bought a set of these from PEP BOYS and put them in my '03 SVT. It was a last resort sort of thing as none of the local 'stealer'ships had plugs for my SVT, but could order them....They are ok, not as good as my DENSO's but ok. Would I buy them again? Probably not, but that's just my personal preference.
