Default Drop-In Filter for 2.3L

Hey guys is there such a thing as a drop-in filter for a 2.3L ST 2006? I have been looking for one and can't find it.

I'm looking for a drop in because I can't do intake since I have to stake inside the HS (AutoX class) Class.

thanks in advance.

There is none. Its a non-user servicable filter, good for 100k.

what do you mean by non-user servicable? Is there any intake performance that will keep the stock air box?

non-serviceable as in there technically isn't a filter to replace. you have to replace the whole unit. you can always do something like this (http://duratec.wikispaces.com/modification-stealth_cai) if you're wanting to retain the stock/unmodified look.

Unfortunately, I don't think meets the requirements for HS.

If there is anyway of putting a cone filter inside the airbox that technically should be legal...

Your best bet is to stick with stock parts, including the filter.

I had the same problem when I ran H Stock.

Anyone tried fitting a 2008 Intake in the older one?

I'm pretty sure that wouldn't be H-Stock legal.

Well if the newer focus is HStock why couldn't the intake work?

I don't mean to be a smart@$$ or anything like that but just wondering...

Update and backdate of parts is not allowed in stock class. It would be legal in street prepared though.

Remove everything in the stock intake berfore the MAF tube and intall a cone filter straight to the tube. Best Bang for a Buck..

Must be with in rules which state you need the box... Now if I could fit a cone within the box that might work.... but the greatest problem is I don't have the car with me... It is my brothers and he is in OHio while I am in Michigan.

If you could fit a replacement into the box, you would be modifying a "non-serviceable" part, thus making it illegal by the rules. According to the rules, you either leave the filter as is, or you go to the next class, being STS.

By the way, the way that these airboxes are constructed and situated, I would assume that even if you did manage to hack open the box, replace the filter with something that you would have to guess on (since there is no direct replacement you would have to measure and /or guess at the actual size), then reseal the entire system (again, illegal by the rules you are trying to follow), I would assume you would have a very, very minimal gain, if any at all.

I am not even trying to pursue this anymore just because of how complex it seems plus the 2.3L have enough Low end power for its class. Now I have to work Tires and maybe shocks...

Screw K&N, they screwed us focus owners with their crappy CEL throwing aircharger. i wouldn't purchase a lawn mower filter from them.

It's constructive in the sense that some of us have had bad experiences with k&n products, and I would suggest to anyone not to support them in any way.

Other than the Duratec problem, I'm 100% behind K&N products.... but we've ventured off topic.

Sounds like it's flowing a lot more air than stock, which is what it's supposed to do. Get a tune.
