I noticed I desperately need stiffer struts. I had to make an emergency haul bottom situation and rounding some curves I could tell it was too much for the struts.

'06 Pitch Black
-All ST options, none above that. Curiously, it has all the items listed in the "decontent" for '06, including.... -exhaust (2.25", no muffler, mandrel bent) -Springs (sits lover than my sister's 07 SE sedan) -Dampers -Sway bars -Red interior appearance package (wheel, knob, seats) The car is all business, it's weird. It has every single ST performance upgrade in performance, with no other options above a base ST. It's AWESOME!!! What the first owner did... -Pioneer door speakers What I've done.... -Energy Suspension polyurethane/grade 8 end links -Lamin-X -Niteshade on taillights (left reverse lights clear) -Lightly tinted cornering lights up front -Red accents outside -Silverstars all around -Blizzaks on stock wheels -17" x 7.5" Elbrus 105 wheels, et 42 offset

I could live without the radio controls on the column but most of what else it has is just a perfect necessity. The only thing I kick myself for not getting on my ST was the Audiophile Sound System but my stock system still has some good punch to it and I do love the speed volume adjustment feature. But also keep in mind I have the 05 Model, the 05 really didn't have that many options when fully loaded at the 21k price. Aside from what the base had the extras were Sunroof, side impact airbags, leather seats with red inserts, and Audiophile sound System. That was it. Later models you got more options like the different seats and door inserts.

I got everything but the heated leather seats. The Audiophile rawx bawlz! I love crusing in th esummer with all of the windows down and the moonroof open as well. It almost feels convertible. The ST is truly the Focus to own though. I think it has out of the box personality that you can't get anywhere else.
I'd pay good money for some production stats. I now that VatoZone's computer system shows that less than 2% of Foci produced in 2005 have the Z VIN but I'm not sure about other years. I'm also not sure how reliable that data is or where it came from but it's all I could find. Has anyone else got a source for Focus production stats from 05-07? Have any of you ST owners who own an 06 or 07 checked out your VIN stats at Vato Zone? |

They all list less than 2%, and it is (believe it or not), accurate. It is estimated that 3500-6000 were produced each year.

That seems reasonable. Somewhere around 15-20 thousand made total over 3 years. I keep digging for articles on Teh InterWebz about the ST and I've found tons from 05 when they came out. Some are very technical about aspects that I already know but many are contradictory especially where the suspension is concerned. The ST suspension definitely changed after 05 but I can't find the exact specs from 05 that I can trust nor can I find the exact specs from 06 or 07 in any form that I rank abouve conjecture or maybe educated guess. There was that thread I mentioned before that talked about someone at F2 named Carlos who had disassembled an ST suspension down to a point where he noted its exact components but even that thread was kind of vague if I remember right. |

That's the biggest problem, I've heard so many different accounts to the ST suspension being almost dead on to the SVT minus springs and struts to being a basic Focus Suspension with some stiffer springs/struts and SVT Cross Links. Nobody knows the exact suspension used especially on the 05 ST which has what I call a suspension on par with an SVT. Just drop the car 30mm and it could run corners with the SVT. (And this is coming from someone who hates cars lowered aftermarket style). I had roughly guessed perhaps no more than about maybe 3,000 ST's produced a year so that pretty close. I just wish we could get build numbers on our ST's.

Weird, that has the black inserts in it, my brochure and information stated that the only interior available for 05 was black with red inserts.

Check this out and post up some support, guys. And for anyone who is lurking this thread, PLEASE post up in the SB thread. I want this to work like an electronic petiton, so please be as cordial as possible. I know a few are pretty hot under the collar over this issue ( it has always kinda bothered me), but I don't think a thread asking for something is the place for it
. I really want this to work out!!!http://forums.focaljet.com/suggestio...ml#post7141994

I got mine from a dealership that wasn't commissioned and I didn't quite get jack for my trade in. Only stupid decision was not waiting till January to purchase when they do that 30% off old inventory clearance. But the Focus was originally near 19k though before rebates and an $800 sale off my Explorer since I couldn't officially trade it in. (It had been sitting in a shop for nearly a year and half waiting for a new engine. My eternal patience finally ran out. Bought car in December made a deal brought the Explorer back in January sold it to the dealer.)

I got lucky and found a sales guy in Ohio who was able to ge me a special incentive on top of the X-Plan deal I got through my job. I swear the drive home from Cincinatti to Indianapolis was the most fun I've had in a car on a public road. My girl at the time, now my ex, drove a CLK230 and she drove me out to pick up the ST. We had an absolute ball on the way home. I still love my ST that much though. The highlight of my day is the redline shift from 2nd to 3rd that happens in the middle of an underpass that's also an on-ramp to the highway leaving my work. No matter how cold it is I always roll my windows down so I can hear it.

I remember all the paper signing the fight between the financial guy and the salesman, I did a wire transfer and paid for the car in full. They couldn't find which account had the money and the finance guy wasn't too keen on letting me go until he knew where the money was. Salesman said its mine legally I just signed all the papers and I had paid since he oversaw the wire transfer. Then leaving the dealership, opening her up like crazy, I couldn't believe the handling. It was so crisp and responsive and the acceleration was just intense. I still get thrills when I take it to the dealership for oil changes/tire rotation hearing that exhaust in an enclosed area just gives me goosebumps.

Leather seat$ came with matching door panels instead of the ST red and black mesh. I would LOVE to have some true race seats made with a red center setion covered by black mesh. It wouldn't be too much fitting work on seats with customizable center padding, but I'd still need to source color matching material and win the lottery.
