I've got the license lamps and the dome light. Both work great.

Hey, everyone - I wanted to officially say that I am back into this.

In fact, I have a few small things to accomplish - namely the following:

1) Setting up my lab
2) Taking new pics
3) Revamping my retarded site with better material. Better = easier for me to create and maintain
Visit: http://www.covert1.com/LEDs

4) Reorganize my inventory and show pics

Accomplished Action Items:
1) Sponsorship
2) Real, reliable internet (Verizon FiOS)

For now, the main products will be:

- LED Dome Lamp Modules
- Modified OEM License Plate Lamps with sealed LEDs

Please watch this message for updates! Thanks, everyone.

Sweet! I'll be waiting for you to get started again, so I can buy a blue dome light version (no map lights) and the hyper white license plate bulbs! Glad to see you working on this again!

The "helping hands", I think, came in a kit with a soldering iron that I had gotten at my local Radio Shack. But these can be found in quite a few places and are usually less than $10.

The heat-shrink tubing was an opportunistic E-bay find. I knew I needed something and sombody just wanted to get rid of a spool for $2. If you search right now, there are plenty of choices. Hope that helps.

Thats cool lookin! i'm just not into it for the simple fact the cops can read my plates better. I've had my one light burnt for two years now and have'nt been pulled over yet for it. I intend to leave it that way so it's dark as possible.

haha, actually, that's OK, too. Either the LEDs can be derated (less light output through use of a higher value resistor) or I can install and derate these brownish-white 10mm LEDs that I got many months ago. IMO, they're terrible for usable lighting, but would be perfect for a long-lasting, minimal solution

Yeah, mine is the 1/16" variety. Works nicely in conjunction with speaker wire and LEDs.

actually the way the LED's shine the point more at the ground than the plate. so the plate is mainly a shadow. i'll show you how my gghetto fabbed ones look tomorrow night if i remember to take a pic (the lights work fine and it looks good but the wiring is really sketchy ) but hey now i won't get pulled over for them being burnt out like i have in the past

I've replaced my plate lights and dome with LED lights from here... http://autolumination.com/festoon.htm and it achieves the same effect. Very bright white or w/e color you want to get.

Just remove the old bulb and pop in the led bulb, and thats it.

tesseract, play23 - please send me a PM. Since I got back from FOTB a few days ago, and had to prepare for it during that whole week, I didn't have much of an opportunity to check the boards.

Now things are almost back to normal - and I should be able to fulfill your requests by early next week (as well as a few others who asked via PM)

I created a set of the blueish-white lamps (it's been a while - those were some of the first LEDs I bought) and will be working on the mini boards for bright white (using the newer square LEDs) along side my dome lamp production.

Very interested in something blue for my interior without sacrificing interior light. Maybe a blue / white led mix?
