i love the style of the focus central hood and it would be perfect for short ram intake. seeing as they are out of business..does anyone make that particular style hood? it would be easy to cut a stock hood that way, but i was hoping for carbon fiber

^Good luck, I saw one on E-Bay a few years back, and the bid was up around $600 give or take. It would be nice to see that style of hood (or even a hood scoop) re surface for the focus.

There was a guy on te East coast that was supposed to be gathering interest in a remake of the FC hood. I will see if I can find the thread. I know I would one of the first people to place an order if somebody did make one.

I had a CF hood which I cut a hole into for my fs/vf supercharger kit...that was retarded, and the scoop looked tacky. However, it was effective...

I think this is a relevant question -- for the hoods with functional scoops or vents, are those designed or intended for use in the rain? That is, how certain can we be that rain water running into the vents don't crack hot metal or short electrics?

Going off your cardomain page, I'm guessing you're in Canada? Ever sit the car outside and let snow fall through it?

You shouldn't have any problems with water or snow coming through the hood. I have had the VIS invader hood on my car for the last 3 years. Winter, summer, rain, snow. No problems with water at all.

I've been looking for a picture of this car forever! That's the exact hood I bought with the spider airbrush coming out of the scoop:

The hood is held on the hinges by either 10 or 12 mm bolts, can't remember. 2 bolts for each hinge. You can unplug the wiper fluid hoses from the nozzles from below. If you're doing this by yourself, prop the hood up with the propstick and unbolt the near side hinge first, and then the far side.

To unclip the nozzle from the hood, you have to fiddle at a release tab a bit with a screwdriver or the like.

I think all of these aftermarket hoods use the same mounting points. No reason not to.
