question.

On the front grill, the turn signal connectors are stamped with Minor, Major, Ground.

Are the rear connectors stamped in the same fashion? if they are, you could reduce a tremendous amount of wiring to nearly nothing by just splicing or vamp clipping into the existing wiring coming off teh connectors

think along the lines of the Mach/ST170 headlight installations.

The EDM ones are the US ones aren't as the "brake" wire carrys both brake and turn signal in one wire.

Acutally, it is as simple. All you have to do is splice 2 wires at the GEM and you're done. You cut both of the rear stop/turn wires and splice into the front turn signal wires at the GEM. This is the best way to do it, eliminating the need to run wires by utilizing the wires already run.

Look here.

http://olmikul.home.comcast.net/taillights.htm

All he needs to do is add that step and it will work correctly. I fixed mine yesterday and they work great!

Can someone at least change the title of the thread to include '02? At least until someone with a newer car as well as someone with an older car can try it out. And include the GEM stuff in the original post. Unless the dude that made the first post can verify that the blinkers do not illuminate with the brakes upon pedal press.

Well instead of repeatedly posting that you want someone else to find you a guide or find out how to do it for you, maybe take a tester and see if you can track it down yourself. Read the how-to and go look at your car. Test the wires in the how-to and see if they are the same. If the colors are different try the wires that are in the same positions on your harnesses as the ones in the how-to and test those. It wouldnt be too hard to figure out.

I've already talked through PMs with darth focus when he was doing his or perhaps you didn't read his prelude thread to this?

On a helpful note you don't need to cut wires. Test off your blue rear connector with a multimeter. I believe pep boys that has one that has an option using a bulb on it. Light lit, thats your wire. Otherwise a simple google search will explain how to use it. Best of luck.

You could also trace the wires from the lights to get an idea of which wires your dealing with and work from there.
If your nipping at the bit and can't wait, why not run turns from the front sides and locate what wire leads to the third brake wire (a solid)?

On my US lights that I changed the reverse to the turn, I wonder if you splice the turn signal into the reverse wire if it would serve dual purpose? I don't see any negatives....

I Have An Easier Way That Requires NO EXTRA WIRES But You Need Some Beefy Resistors And Thats That. If Anyone Is Interested PM Me Your Year And SVT vs ZX3. It Allows The Tails To Have A Euro Appearance With A Brake And Park Lamp And A Turn In the Reverse. Some Modifications To The Wires In The Rear And At The Gem By The PCM Where You Need to Add Some Resistance To A Ground.

Cool. I was gonna say I could give a crap about how other people do it. I already had to figure it out on my own a friggin long ass time ago. Just ran the blinks from the front, but I like to wire, so it was no big deal. Didn't even know there was such a thing as a GEM. Although I may try that way now.

So as no one gets confused EDM Sockets are still labeled Maj Min Grnd, and US aren't since there is only one signal wire :-)
