Default VHT Nite Shades... Local Parts Store???

I can't find a local auto parts store who sells this here in Cincy OH. I called Autozone, Advance Auto, PepBoys, NAPA, O'Reilly, Parts Plus and all the window tinting shops. I refuse to pay $10 shipping on a $10 part. Anyone know who would have it on the shelf?????

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NAPA around here carries it. Check to VHT dealers in your area. NAPA may be able to special order it because I know they can get Autometer gauges around here too.

O'Rielly orders it in my area. They carry VHT paint, and tell them you want to order a can. They can usually have it in acouple days "if its in the warehouse"

It about 8-10$. It depends if you know the car behind the counter or not, and which store you stop by.

A good alternative is Duplicolor's Metalcast Smoke. I used it to re-do my tails this spring and it came out great. Duplicolor is much more widely available than Niteshades, but sometimes the Metalcast Smoke is out of stock.

THANKS EVERYONE!!! I was able to order it at O'Rielly's for $10 and will get it Tuesday. davlafont... How long has the Duli-color metalcast smoke held up? Can you post a picture right here on how it turned out? Many say the nite shades fades so if this works better then I may use it instead of the VHT.

I THINK it was cheaper than $10. I don't remember. Maybe $6-8?

One month so far!

My Nite Shades job lasted about three years or so. I didn't use a very good clear coat over it, so not only did the tint fade, but the clear got all cloudy and dried out. My tails looked like doo-doo on a stick for about a year. I finally got off my butt and fixed it last month.

Did you clear coat them again? Does anyone make a good clear coat in a can or is a body shop the only way to go? Wonder what they would charge to just clear coat things?

I prefer to have a bodyshop spray the clear. The rattle can clear sucks IMO.

I used Duplicolor's clear. It works. I won't say it will win any awards, but it will protect the tint from the elements and provide a little depth.

yeah i have my tails like REALLY DARK! and i was scared of getting a ticket. and i HATED the primer look of the nite shades. so i got a small can of dupli color clear coat. and i am actually so much more in love with my tails now. i know it isnt the best way to do it. but i have to say... considering i did it at work in the maintenance room it looks awsome! lol

Different car, but Niteshade + Duplicolor clear.

Stock on the right, tinted on the left. Best set I've done so far. No wax on those either.

The car is in great shape for an 83. I helped him do a 5spd swap on it recently. Has a bigger Webber carb, 2.25" exhaust and will be getting some 13" vintage Enkei's. He's still working on getting the jets set right. The primary idle jet is fine now, but he thinks the secondary idle jet needs to be bumped up a bit.

It's not riced in the least.
