i just read about it on here, then went to baxter auto parts, bought the nightshade, came home and had it done in about 2 hours between taking them off, and doing the coatings.

Get a can of this -------> http://store.summitracing.com/partde...part=vht-sp999 take out your lights (or tape around them really good). Clean them off really good... spray away (do more coats if you want them darker).

I didn't sand my side markers or tails. it's been over a year (and a very harsh winter) and I have no issues with flaking or peeling of any kind. |

x2. Props for trying, but that coat looks pretty rough. Give it a good sanding and give it the ol' spray+wetsand+spray... maybe even a clear afterward if it looks dull. Honestly, I'm not sold on the black corner/red body scheme anyway. Unless you're doing black HL housings and some black trim, I think straight clear corners look a little better.

It's pretty easy... just reach up under there and take a look... Ramps will make it easier. There are just a couple of crappy little faux-nut dealies and the wiring harness to detach, and they come right out.

Clear coat, polish and wax as well. Makes a HUGE difference.

And clean the surface with acetone or some other agent for degreasing to remove any oils. The scratches help the paint to "grab" onto something and the degreasing lets the paint get to the plastic to "grab". B
