The bulbs make them blue, 8000k is blue, however, the reflector is chrome which would probably be brighter, wont make the light bluer. I think your blinding people

This thread is the best!

Where else can you see someone come to FJ to bash people's cars, disappear and go to FF for a few months to let the heat cool down...then came back expecting a red carpet for some headlights.

To say my opinion about aftermarket Xenon mounted in halogen headlamps, i hate it, nothing gets to me more than ricers putting xenons that spread the light everywhere, so that when you meet that car in the dark you get totaly blinded, hope you get a ticket or something by the cops for doing that.

And yeah, totaly agree with zetecgt, not wery nice what you did before you disapeared

That's definitely going to blind people.

Pics look nice though. I personally like those city lights.

I just won't walk that thin line by running those 8000k lights down here in Hawaii because that'll be multiple fines that'll be the cost of my college tuition for the next semester if a law enforcement officer pulls me over.

You are all wrong.

Pure white is somewhere between 5000 and 5500 kelvin.

Also, HID bulbs should never be installed in a non-projecctor headlamp, unless you make the proper shielding to eliminate the glare and scattered light. I don't care what anyone says, the bulbs aren't made to be put in those housings, they will not function properly.

But on a side note ..... blue light looks neat.

thats what i always read too. i was planning on using 5000k in mine.

but on a side note....i never noticed the slight yellow-ish hue of the stock mach HIDs till this morning in the rain when they were shining against the back of a truck.

i plan on replacing the projectors with some Lexus ones down the road. That should fix that problem.

i bet its the stock 4300 bulbs in the machs. just get some phillips 6k's and your will be pleased...4300 is too low of a kelvin and thats why it has a light yellow tint....

My stock Mach's do not have a yellow tint to them at all. I will try to post some pics up of them.

Pics never show true color. I didn't say they have a yellow tint. I said they are slightly yellow next to most other OEM HIDs.

Come on guys.... Go easy on him. HID's in halogen housings are the ****! You can almost see more than a high quality halogen bulb, they don't blind oncoming traffic or piss off people in front of you, and you won't get made fun of or given tickets after a nationwide crackdown on illegal $20 chinese HID kits in your halogen headlights. Everyone envies jackasses, keep them....

I would have gone with 12000k HID, those are badass and make the pavement invisible, right on.

I can't believe people are still doing this... Maybe you should spend money on getting some of those dents and scratches fixed before you spend money on HID's that make your car look ridiculous and have absolutely no benefit other than making it look like a smurf died in your headlight housing.

This thread sucks, and I'm sick of people advertising their half ass HID applications weekly. Do it right or don't do it at all...

People with HID setups like this make me wish I could walk away from a head on collision.

I get annoyed when 1 out of 10 cars I pass on the road blinds the hell out of me, especially when I'm on my motorcycle. It's just irresponsible. Do whatever you want to your car as long as it isn't going to be dangerous for other drivers. People have a hard enough time driving without running into each other with cell phones, eating or just zoning out, we don't need two lanes of glare coming down the road too.

I don't need a hug, it's more of a built up lack of tolerance for threads like this. Once a week we have someone who posts there HID kit claiming its 100% safe and doesn't have glare etc. I understand people like the look of HID's, I have them myself (DOT BMW HID projectors fitted into my E-spec hellas).

It's a luxury and an awesome one at that, but the person inside the car isn't the only one effected by it. I just find it very disrespectful.

I could just lock the thread but he posted for feedback and opinions so it'll stay open.

Also...I think whether or not the Mach HID's have a yellow tint to them or not as a lot to do with the condition of the lens of either housing or projector or both, or how much the bulbs have color shifted from use. Newer bulbs are always more yellow than one that has been used for an extended period of time.

These 8000k bulbs will get bluer after used for a while.

My lenses are crystal clear when they're clean thanks to the 3M film, and the bulbs have been in there for years. I'm not saying they have a yellow tint... I'm saying they're not as true white as say an FX35 or Lexus cars or pretty much any of the other OEM manufacturers. I don't know why; they just aren't. Maybe the bulbs are different or the ballast has a different power output.
