2002 SVT models had the black plastic. I believe later models went to a painted strip.

I know for the sedan the painted ones from Ford depended on the colour choice. I believe CD Silver, Infra Red and Pitch Black were the only ones available. For other colours, there was a primed piece that had to be painted.

You might want to PM Steve (FORDSVTPARTS) for insight and pricing.

Becareful removing the rear lift handles. The bolts on them corrode and snap off when removing them. Just be prepared ahead of time.

I just had Steve order me a painted lift gate handle for my hatch. Got it installed this week. Some colors are disco'd. Good luck finding your color.
