I'd recommend ordering the harness from BatInc or from a Euro parts place that has them. It would be alot easier.

Wiring is easy. The VW wires used have a metal clip on them that insert into the slots of the connector base.
If accessibility is an issue, definitely try our sponsors, Bat Inc.

This is what I used for my Machs... I am horrible with wiring but this is step by step the entire way, and I didn't even **** it up!
http://homepage.mac.com/alf/HIDlights/Part numbers are listed there... be prepared to shell out a little over $100 for what you need... also get with FORDSVTPARTS to get you the Ford connector that you will need.

The harness in that how-to is different then the VW harness I have.
I just cut the old factory harness out, and wired up the new harness directly in. So my signals, and all my other leads go thro the same harness.

I made an adaptor harness with a couple of "weather proof" connector plugs and the wiring harness out of the old headlamps. Its easily removable and I can go back to stock headlamps in about 15 mins, if i had to.

I bought the connectors from BAT inc. for $50. I cut off the old connectors in the car and soldered the new connectors to my existing harness. Easy and cheap.
