Are you planning on making your own parts using Kevlar?

Heres the only piece I've ever had that resembled CF...

carbon fiber isn't worth it, i got my hood 4 years ago and its starting to get pretty faded, by the end of this summer the hood will look awful. not to mention unless you go with a good brand your gonna run into issues with things like... the windshield washer nozzels ect.

Clear coat it the day you get it and you'll never worry about it.

It's not the carbon that's the issue. It's the garbage gel-coat manufacturers use.

Have a body shop sand and clear it and it'll look better than the day you got it.

Exactly.

The Resin does fade, but that is why it is always recommended to clear coat over the CF to add protection to it.

My hood was in awful condition. The gelcoat was all pitted and faded. I had my body guy re-do the whole hood and the area I left CF looks better than it did when it was new.....

CF FTW.

Are you talking about this one?

If so, looking stupid is a matter of opinion... and to me this spoiler is awesome, but to each their own I guess.

Here's a pic of o2_design's car with the fiberglass one painted body color:

We all also have to keep in mind that that wing is partially looking good because of the car it's on. Pop that on my car and it's uglier than my mom.
