Can anyone tell me why NOT to get these headlights?

I appreciate any info, but please no "don't buy cheap eBay *#@!". Just wondering if anyone has tried these and had any fitment, shipping, or quality issues.

Not sure what headlights you're talking about because you didnt provide anything other than what you didnt want us to say

Any of the ebay headlights I have seen in person have a really bad light throw, usually either very narrow, or in a \/\/ pattern on the ground with extremely bright spots and dark spots with almost no light rather than a smooth broad spread \___/ like Hellas, Morrettes, Machs or even a factory headlight. If you want a headlight that looks cool, they are an option but as far as actually lighting quality, most of the ebay headlights fall short simply because of the projectors that come in them.

i dont think these look too good beacause they are "fake" carbon fiber, which imo looks kinda tacky. i have the ebay headlights kinda like that and painted them to match my car, which i think looks much better. ive had them on my car for a yr and a half, and the only problem ive had is that the angel eyes dont work anymore (the wiring wasnt very good for the angel eyes)

I had a set similar to that on my wagon. They were painted tho to match. They look better painted body color. Otherwise the light output was'nt too bad. But I custom fabbed my own lights into it to get rid of the halo garbage.

I was just checking in on this thread again and for some reason I'm thinking these are the headlights a few members have had problems with melting... I know they looked exactly like these but where made by APC a while ago...

Also, I saw they said they won't fit the SVT... Unless you're downgrading from Machs they'll fit anything pre-05..

Honestly man, if this is the look you're going for, you can pick up a used set of Hellas for about $200ish and have a really nice set of headlights.

that cheap seems too good to be true. i think they are ugly, but you may not, so thats mute. as said about fake carbon fiber . . . if you just have them painted properly you will be fine. otherwise it flakes and fades, its no bueno. i think its overall cheap quality on parts that could pose a problem. if you dont drive at night and just want the look . . sure, go for it. but if not, id pass.

Yeah, seriously, go find a used set of Hellas and be happier in the long run. Similar look with a known brand name, customer support, and a lot of people who know stuff about them on these forums.

Sounds good fellas, I guess I'll just keep my options open in the mean time. I may end up going with the used set with the broken lens in the FS forum for $250...just been spending alot of money on my FoFo lady lately.

Not only do they look terrible new, they're going to look much much worse in a year when the faux carbon fiber fades away as these headlights tend to do.
