I thought I saw someone who did this, but he never made it to posting the pics.

His camera got destroyed in the horrible car crash it suffered because he couldn't see where he was driving at night... because he nightshaded his headlights.

Why not just do a smoked material over them like Laminex or tint? It would be MUCH easier to remove if you didn't like the look. If you don't like how the pre-cut sheets fit (I've never seen them in person so I can't say if it is good or bad) you could always buy a sheet and cut them yourself. Your also getting better protection from the laminex then some niteshades would give. Just a suggestion.

You just gotta ask...

http://www.focussport.com/laminx.htm

And don't Niteshade your headlights. Its a neat and cheap idea, but its not smart. Not only will it be way to dark, but it will chip off and look like crap in a week. AVS sells ABS plastic covers you can buy, or just get the LaminX. It will protect your headlights, and not a total bitch to remove later on if you need to take it off.

I would get the AVS covers so you can take them off when driving at night... I don't know how friendly the LEO's would be about having your headlights tinted at night.

LEOs would ticket you for doing that to your headlights.

You can't tell they are niteshaded with the lights on other than they will be dimmer than normal. The only time you can see them black is during the day which hurts nothing.

I am good with niteshades but I would never spray headlights with it, imagine rock chips etc. It would look like poopy in a few months. I would suggest the lamin-x, or the blackout removable covers.

Feel free to say that to a LEO. They'll just give you a smirk and hand you a ticket.

Maybe I misunderstood something how dark are we talking, I thought we were tinting not blocking all the light out.

I was thinking no darker than this. I could see darker than this is opening yourself up for harassment if cops don't like you or they are having a bad day.

Most LEO's aren't bad people I shoot with a few of them. If you get a ticket for tinted headlights during the day, they are just being dicks. There is really no safety violation during the day unless your turnsignals cannot be seen for whatever reason. And at night with the lights on you can't even tell the headlights are tinted unless you sitting next to an identical car and the cop can make a comparison.

I've thought about the harder headlights... but then I have seen the headlights you can buy witht he clear plastic with black components inside which I think look just as good? But they are expensive I know (at least for me with an 07). If you do put a layer of nightshade or two on your lights I would love to see... would you nightshade the inside of the light though to keep it from getting bombarded with bugs, rocks, pollen, water, squirrels?

as i was falling asleep lastnight i realized the whole thing with the rock chips and such. i live where there are a lot of loose gravel roads and that wouldnt be very good.

so im just gunna laminex them. it would be too expensive to have to replace a plastic cover every time i get a crack.

what do yall think is on that mustang an TL?

You can get simular stuff to laminx on ebay. Much better deal. I got some that worked amazing for my fog lights for a fraction of the cost.
