FLAME ON... j/k.

No, I do not have the RS suspension. I have the Tein SuperStreet adjustable coilovers.

I was thinking on the drive home today though, all I need to do is get an actual mk1 RS into my driveway, slap my license plates on it, and few would ever know what the f!kc just happened. If only I could get a car through the border... could pick up a nice mk1 for 12-14k these days. Ah well, pipe dream I guess, at least until I get shady and lucrative in my smuggling techniques.

The Focus RS uses an upgraded MTX75 trans, so no, the axles won't fit.

btu its not worth it to me in my opinion, i guess maybe for overall weight reduction maybe but you will ahve a very very light rear end, and i like my car to be all 1 color haha.
I am against them, assuming they are not as good as having the metal trunk... But, my trunk is rusting, as 75% of all the Foci trunks here in MI do after 5-6 years. So I have been thinking about the CF hatch for the sheer fact it wont rust in the long run like a metal one. Of course I would paint it body color. CF hatch never had the wow factor to me.

Looks like I might be driving one back from across the border in a few years then...

This is a valid point about corrosion resistance, but my concern is the longevity of CF hatches, seems like a few years down the road it's going to crack from being shut over and over, they are very different than standard trunks in their stress upon closing.

Rust Proofing. I have an old spray gun that i use just for rust proofing 80% gear oil 20% paint thinner. Pull your inner panels off put down rags & cardboard & spray away, let it drip out wipe clean and drive down the dustiest road you can find. It works great just a little extra clean up for the first few washes. My 1980 Celica that I purchased 29 years ago still looks new no RUST!!

Stoped by the CF guy today he is going to starton RS parts in 1 week he is finishing up a 69 Firebird trans am project, he said he will alter the F2 splitter he wil make so it is a 100% fit and he can do them in fiberglass also for much less. Will do trunk moldings also.

It seems like a lot of people are doing the rs conversions with svt's. Is there anyone else doing the rs conversion with a zx3 with rs suspension. Also How does everyone feel about bride gias lo max seats. I will not be doing an exact interior because I do not feel like importing the parts but it will have similarities.

English is leaning towards the zx3 build atm I think, as are a few others, but I think in 6-8months we're going to see a plethora of RS conversions pop up on the forums, so only only time will tell for sure.

As for the seats, any pics of what you have in mind?
